About Me

Hey, BEFORE I FORGET, I love meeting new people, so don't hesitate to send me a message or anything. I look forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. :) Anyway, here's most of what you need to know about me: My name's Michelle. I have the most amazing boyfriend named Steven. He makes me incredibly happy. I am so lucky to be in love with him. I'm a kind-hearted person. But I'm horrible at showing it sometimes cuz I mess around a lot. I'm rooted when I need to be, but I'm pretty random otherwise, but never fear, I keep half of my arbitrary zeal under wraps. I'm definitely more of a guy's girl than a girl's girl. Meaning I just relate better with guys, I don't know why. In my experience they just tend to be a lot more easygoing/less judgmental than girls. I'm very down to earth and I'm not afraid of hard work. I LOVE MUSIC. I love to swim. I love the ocean, the rain, puddles, almost anything to do with water. I'm obsessed with nature. My favorite color is green and my favorite animal (besides Steven) is the wolf. I have a good relationship with my parents. They're good, real people. I'm a pretty chill person, although sometimes I get passionate about intellectual things. Unless you know me or I respect you, you probably won't have very serious or deep conversations with me. Education is pretty important to me. And I can be loud, but I'm not into drama at all. At all. At all. Oh, and I'm not trendy. Don't ask me for style tips (not that you would). So thassa bout it. L8 chirren. The Thermals. Possibly one of my favorite videos ever. Simplicity is key, and so many bands don't understand that. When you're new to the scene and you have ample creativity on your hands, you tend to want to use it all at the same time cuz you figure that your first vid might be your last. So even if your budget's extremely low, you try to do all you can with what you've got. But sometimes the best thing to do is to just jump around like a music-lovin fool, cuz that's probably the most real thing you can do, and the people who watch the video know that and love you for it. It makes you more relatable, cuz honestly, who hasn't jumped around like a music-lovin fool? So yeah, simplicity, keep that in mind. In this era of excess (tho probably not as bad as the eighties, as far as rock is concerned), this band succeeded in grasping the "less is much much more" concept. Maybe they didn't even grasp it, maybe they were floundering in a very low budget, but at least they took their floundering to the reel and gave it life. Artistic appreciation, loves, go get some. Aaaaah!!!Oooo that bear is wicked hawt! Lol haven't seen this vid in a looong time...

My Interests

I have too many interests. I love to hang out with my boyfriend, he gets me like no other. I like going to poetry readings, but I haven't gone in awhile. SWEATY CONCERTS are big with me. I hate the heat, but there's something about the heat and the nasty smell that overwhelms you at a concert that I can't shake and don't want to. It's just good, the sticky sweaty bodies of all those people meshed together in musical bliss and energy. I love it. I like going out when it's raining. I like watching The Dive on FUSE. I like reading about things like modern vampires and witches and pagans; I'm not evil or blasphemous or satanic, it just appeals to me. A guilty pleasure, as it were. I really like to go camping. Something about being outdoors in clean air for once is appealing. I like getting dirty and gritty, you know, the real camping experience. I also love going to the beach whenever I get the chance. I love to body surf. I don't care if it's freezing cold, I'll usually be the first one in and the last one out of the water. Fo sho.

I'd like to meet:

Hmm... this is a toughie. First and foremost I would definitely love to meet the Red Hot Chili Peppers. That would be a dream come true. I'd love to meet Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders and a whole bunch of other bands and some famous ppl. I really wanted to meet a whole bunch of enthusiastic, vibrant people my age who wanted to make a difference in the world and who looked outside of themselves, but then I went to HOBY, so I guess I already fulfilled that desire. Hmm...I'll keep you posted.

Music:

RHCP FOR LIFE!!!!! I have been a fan since I was seven years of age. They just never stop rocking. I like lots of different bands, and unlike SOME people may believe *cough*ashleigh*cough*, my musical taste is not trapped in a box without airholes. I am very open to different genres and styles, and my palette expands over the years. Basically I like too many artists too even bother listing them, so if anybody wants to know what I like they can ask me.

Movies:

This is Spinal Tap. Funny as hell. I like comedies like "Office Space" and "Ghost World", and while romantic comedies can be entertaining when I'm bored, I generally stay away from them. Some of the 80s teen movies are pretty funny, like "Weird Science", and "The Breakfast Club" is a classic. Also, "Say Anything" is truly awesome. "I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen." I like interesting indie flicks, foreign films, all kinds of things.

Television:

I don't have a lot of time to watch tv, but when I do, here's how it goes: FUSE, Comedy Central, Simpsons, In Living Color. Basically music videos and funny crap. No sitcoms, dramas, or telenovelas, I just can't follow 'em and they blow life out of proportion.

Books:

"Something Wicked This Way Comes" by Ray Bradbury (geniously dark book ;) ) "The Republic of East L.A." by Luis J. Rodriguez "Stargirl" by Louis Sachar----- "Fat Kid Rules the World"-----K.L. Going "The Giver"----Lois Lowry? "The Chocolate War"----Robert Cormier And Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss are amazing. The Catcher in the Rye sucks. It consumes, then regurgitates, fecal excrement.

Heroes:

God. Other than that, I don't really look up to people. Nobody is infallible. There are things that I admire in people, but I don't idolize one sole person. Although I did recently have this teacher who kicked my bootay into outer space, and I don't think I've been back yet. He knew.I still have his shades.
