I am here for Friends

About Me

I love chocolate, sunshine and warm temperatures. Sometime in the next (fill in the number) years I will leave Seattle behind me and go somewhere where chocolate, sunshine and warm temperatures are abundant.

I'm politically left; my feelings about W are no secret.

I'm an east coast transplant. After 27 years in New England, I vowed never to shovel snow again. A 5 month trek cross country resulted in 8 years in the Bay Area. After Hear Music was acquired by Starbucks in 1999, I moved up here.

Seattle is beautiful and the people are much friendlier than in the Bay Area, but I really did leave my heart in San Francisco

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who want to be a positive force in their own and others' lives. People who jump in, explore, discover, grow... even if they're scared. People whose influence and encouragement will help me transform from a jaded naysayer to an open adventurer.

Folks who know the difference between there/their/they're and your/you're and know that "a lot" is two words.

My Blog

Dodged another bullet

Somehow, and I have no idea how, my father is no longer dying - at least not yet. Yesterday the doctors reversed what they said a couple months ago and there is no tumor in the lung and only a few lym...

The adventure has begun

A quick note to say that I am now in Argentina - for the moment in a city on the Atlantic coast called Mar del Plata, but in a week, I'll be in Buenos Aires for an unknown period of time. I'm sending ...
