Curio was introduced to music while his mother was in the military in Germany. Throughout his years as a youngster he had taken a very serious interest in danceing. Taking after others who pop/lock, break, B-boy, street dance, his mother decided to put him into modern dancing at which he then performed at the Embassy and Civic Theatre. Even still at his young age Curio also took an interest in writing which in turn built into awards from elementary all the way to being a Famous Poet more than twice from the "Famous Poet Society". Winning 1st place in a poetry contest at Manchester College Curio received a $1000 scholarship. Curio then realized that he had a gift; not a talent. Also being raised in a local church Curio had also sang in the choir as well as played the drums for the church not knowing it was going to lead to greater success stories. Curio had performed an original gospel rap/dance for the church called "Mind of a Mad Man" not knowing that it would lead to many teachings at church based around that them, "Mind of a Mad Man". Curio kept up with his writing and dancing even as he went to college taking up communications, and teaching students dance moves, and techniques. As people saw and watched this talented young man he was then asked to teach dance to those who wanted to learn. But he couldn't due to keeping focus on his studies. Curio also had a rap group in college called "5 Star Generals", performing at almost every event possible. He had spent long nights and days in the communications building on the "Urban T1000" (hard disk recording database), Reel to Reel, Yamaha DJX Keyboard, Sound Libraries, and carts used for the radio station. Curio couldn't finish school so he began entering talent shows receiving standing ovations in the "Indianapolis Starquest Show Down" at Tech High School. Curio danced with others dancers and the groups names were Xtasy, Sick Widdit, and Wet Dream. Curio had began opening up for major stars such as Fat Joe, Amanda Perez, and Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, and also Twista. Dancing and performing his own music Curio started making a name for himself throughout the city. Curio had performed at the Memorial Coliseum in 2000/2001. This particular event was quite a stir... Curio had went to Monastic Chambers to record an instrumental track for his song "Whatever You Want". Curio performed this song at the event. When Curio got on the stage the seats were half way full. Well, Curio's beat came on and a herd of females came from out the side doors of the hallways bum rushing the stage screaming. Curio cracked a smile picking out various females to sing to. Finishing the song Curio was asked for autographs, contact info and much more leaving other acts primarily distraught. Even later in time Curio did the Starquest Showdown and received an standing ovation as he hit a high note that only Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston could do. Even then as Curio stepped off the stage the crowd was chanting his name as another performer was on stage.
Years passed doing all of these shows and in January of 2005 Curio was asked to teach hip hop to a group of middle kids at Portage Middle School. Taking out time from his job at the "Internationally Known Sweetwater Sound Studio" at lunch he taught the kids dance moves, and brought television stations and local newspaper to see his army of 16 talented kids do what they do best which then led to the show on March 3, 2005 continuing to be a success as hoped for. Now the 26yr old artist has put out three cds entitled "New Era- Exclusive", "2-faced" which happened to be a double cd consisting of R&B, Rap, and a pinch of Rock (30 trax total), and his latest cd "From The Streets To The Sheets". Curio feels being offered record deals in the past has allowed him to grow a lot in the knowledge of the business. This walking time bomb has done his homework and is looking for the right bite if not starting his own label due to his prominant clients showing a longeavity in the business. Curio realizes he couldn't do none of this without God. Curio is now working on his next cd, and believes that it will take him to another level as a person, business man, and artist. Being influenced by Boyz II Men, H-Town, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Scarface, Michael Jackson, Hammer, and Johnny Gill just to name a few; he hopes to become as great as they are and better...This profile was edited with Space codes - Editor MySpace HELP Profile Help!
