Just Joe

I distinctly remember forgetting that...

About Me

There are countless ways to describe me but the easiest is to accept what you see as the truth. I don't have a hidden agenda, I'm not looking to fool anybody. I'm a human being, wonderfully flawed but not without redeeming qaualies. I am, just Joe.I grew up moving all over the world as a military dependant. It was difficult, for a child to have to say good-bye to all his friends and everything he knew every couple of years. On the other hand every couple of years presented completely new surroundings, new house, new schools, and tons of new people. The fortunate thing about growing up in a military community is that everyone else understands what you're going through and usually within a few days of arriving someplace new we'd have all found some new friends to occupy our time. The best part of moving all over was getting to experience so much of the world first-hand. Living overseas in Korea and Germany provided a unique perspective few Americans ever get to see, and at an age where you can truly appreciate how overwhelmingly different it is. I guess it's only natural that my own career choices would eventually lead me down a similar path that keeps me travelling quite regularly.I am very close with my family, we communicate openly and regularly and cherish the rare moments we manage to get everyone together these days. I have a collection of the greatest friends anyone would ever ask for, and I would say that between my family and friends there just isn't anything else more important to me.I was brought up to believe in some old-fashioned ideals passed down by my ancesters. I've been known to use the word "honor" and "integrity sometimes. It saddens me to think that those ideals are so easily cast aside.I've been told that I can be a bit quiet at time, I guess I just don't always have something important enough to say.

My Interests

My geekiness has a funny way of running amok, I spent considerable time building and tweaking electronics and computers, I'm also a great fan of the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, etc. Even just a leisurely drive on a nice road.

I'd like to meet:

Genuine people with their heart in the right place,

Music:

I listen to most anything and have favorite artists from most any genre. My own personal favorite genre tends to fall a little short of the mainstream so I generally keep that music to myself. Having spent considerable time in Europe I gained a real love of Dance music, my favorite artists include Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, and especially a group of DJ's up North who create hour-long mixes that are simply amazing, DJ GT and Project C.

Movies:

I like comedies and action movies with the occassional drama. I'm a big fan of historical fictions like "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers". Slapstick comedies like "Wedding Crashers" and "Supertroopers"

Television:

Slapstick shows are good for casual browsing, but I really find shows that catch my interest on Discovery, the History Channel, and the classic movie channels. FX runs some awesome drama series' I enjoy such as "The Sheild", "Save Me", "Nip Tuck," and so on.

Books:

Ken Follet is my favorite author, I'm also a fan of Stephen Ambrose, and Dan Brown.

Heroes:

Arnold Schwartzenegger, that dude is my hero. Came to America and did everything he set out to do. Became a star, married a princess, built a life. He's got that honest, "aw shucks" side to him while at the same time, "don't mess with me or I will crush you." How many people can pull both of those off at the same time? Seriously though, my Dad is my hero.
