Isabelle Collin Dufresne was born on September 6th, 1935, at La Tronche (Grenoble) Isere. France. 1948, after a religious upbringing, she rebels, is exorcised in a Latin ritual pronounced by a catholic priest. At age 15 starts a cigar collection - an emancipation wish, and writes an elegance treaty. Interned in a correction home, then leaves for New York in 1951.
Meets with Salvador Dali in 1955, becomes his muse and pupil. Starts painting. Is part of the American Cultural Revolution during the sixties, associates with the New York School: Jasper Johns, Rauschenberg, Rosenquit, Chamberlain, Lichtenstein, Segal, Stella, etc..., becomes a pop icon. Meets Warhol in 1964, and while shooting one of Andy's film: "i a man", she takes the name of ULTRA VIOLET. Collaborates with the artist, participates at the creation of the legendary silver factory, becomes a superstar. Meeting with Marcel Duchamp, the father of contemporary art's catastrophe. Also meets Magritte, Chagal, Picasso, etc...
1967, meets Truman Capote, Allen Ginsberg, John Cage, Greta Garbo, bob Kennedy...1968, Acts in films: Midnight cowboy of John Schlessinger, Taking off of Milos Forman, Maidstone of Norman Mailer, Night Train of Woody Allen, Savages of James Ivory, Unmarried Woman of Mazursky...Writes music, records for Capitol Records. Meets Lou Reed, John Lennon, Rudolph Noureev...
In love with the artist Edward Ruscha.
Clinically dead in 1973, comes back to life. After a long convalescence engages herself into saving Contemporary Art from descralisation and miserabilism. 1975, studies the Scriptures and related her work to the book of Apocalypse. Publishes her memoir : "FAMOUS FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES, my years with Andy Warhol". After a full page review in the New York Times, the book is translated and published into 12 foreign editions.
Opens a studio in Nice in 1990. Creates a movement, and publishes its MANIFESTO: L'ultratique. She exhibits in France, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Tzechkoslovakia, Spain, Great Britain, Monaco, Poland, Italy, Canada, etc...1991, addresses the subject of Nuclear Angels and Apocalyptic Angels, etc...In preparation a book on XXI century angels. " Beyond High Tech Informationn Aesthetic shines on tenebrism ", becomes the logo of her art studio in 1992.
1993, publishes Manifesto II : Celebrate light; in which scriptural and scientific data interact. 1996, November 4th, at Audcom, 60 Broad street, New York: a computer-generated image entitled: "Who But An Angel Can Stop A Missile", is exhibited in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Andy Warhol's death.
