My name is Dawn, but I'm not really much of a morning person. Unless you count staying up painting until the sun rises...
There is nothing I would rather do to put bread on the table than create works of art, so I am extremely grateful to the universe and those who have helped me for making my dream a reality.
I want to give the world something in return. I wish to create art that awakens, comforts and inspires the soul. That rejoices in the dichotomy of joyful innocence coupled with soulful experience. I wish to help bring about the peace in the world I yearn for so much. No wish or thought for peace, no matter how small, goes unnoticed or unheard.
Our earth is a stunning and awe-inspiring place, and life is a beautiful, intricate thing. If my art can recreate just 1% of the earth's beauty truthfully I will be very happy indeed. I have been fascinated by our earth, space and the meaning of life since I was too young to really be worrying about such things. I expect you might be able to see my philosophical side expressing itself through my artwork. Not too mention my love for all things winged, horned and enchanted!
I not ashamed to believe in the intangible or the unseen. If something is real and holds meanings to you then it is very real on some level. You do not need anyone else’s approval, only your own
If I could give aspiring young artists, and old ones for that matter, any advise it would be to just be who you are. Continue defining and discovering yourself. Don't let anyone, or anything dictate to you who or what you should be. You are perfect as you are. Be true to yourself and your cause... and love yourself. You can truly achieve anything you believe in enough.
I wish everyone a enchanting journey through life. There is beauty in every moment, if you will only see it.
As for the professional side of things, I have sold my paintings internationally, and many now reside in private collections across the UK, US, Canada and Europe. I am also a keen photographer and was excited to learn that one of my photographs is to be published within a coffee table book this summer. I am currently in the process of writing a children's book, so keep an eye out for that!
