Socialism is bad for the economy on so many levels. Here is the short economic list.
1. Socialism stifles investment, because the government can step in at any moment, abrogate your contract and re-distribute your profits to those that they deem worthy. Not to mention fire the CEO if they dont like them.
2. Socialists view your money as a sort of bank account for their pet projects, and will enact legislation to get it when they want it. If they run out, hey just raise taxes or print more.
3. You want socialism? ok, what do you think NAZI stands for? It is short for Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers' Party). The nickname is based on the first two syllables, as pronounced in German and was already current in 1923 in Bavaria. .
4. Those who preach the loudest about social agendas are usually the richest. Most of the powers that be in the Democratic congress were born with a silver spoon in their mouths and have never done an honest days work in their lives.
5. Socialism does not work. It just does not. A market cannot be controlled by decree. 1 example, Venezuela. When Chavez froze the price of rice and milk, the producers stopped producing because it was no longer profitable. When it disappeared from the shelves, Chaves stole the plants and now has his army operating them [at a substantial loss to the government and significantly less efficiently].
6. Socialism creates a two class society; The ultra wealthy elite, and the rest of us proletariats.
