DMart started adult life 14 years too early. Fast forward to 2008, DMart makes music none of us are ready for.
Not much was known about the origins of Mr D until Jan 2017, when, in an attempt to make the most out of a bad situation, and some cash, DMart released his condensed memoirs after an old flame sold their story to Calliper Weekly. Much was made out of his alledged fixation with walking impairments, and accusations of Fluting and illegal betting rings saught to destroy DMart’s reputation. Within 2 weeks, ‘Soiled: A Life Behind’ entered the book charts at number 43 and stayed there for just over 6 weeks.*
With stunning albums including ‘Dance, Danny! Dance.’ ‘The Scherzo’’ and the seminal ‘Johnny, Let Your Hair Down’, DMart could have easily hung his Banjo up years ago and been called a hero. But as the title of his new album suggests, ‘Karate in my Pockets, Judo in my Shoes’, Dwayne Martin is far from giving up the ghost.
* It was later discovered that the ledger in charge of publishing the chart, trapped himself in the cellar while preparing a bagel, and suffocated, leaving the book chart unchanged for 47 days.
