INSICKNIA

About Me

.. " target="_blank"
In 2006, Insicknia established themselves in the Danish metal underground with their self-financed debut “Now Entering….Insicknia”, which showcased the band’s skills for creating brutal but melodic thrash metal with a metalcore twist. The album almost with no exception received only positive critical response in underground magazines throughout the world. A range of live shows in their home country only confirmed that the music was as successful on stage as on record. Since then, founding members Allan Sørensen and Christian Mindedahl decided to change the line-up in order to improve the overall sound and musicianship of the band. This has resulted in a musical direction that not only displays impressive technical skills but also a more intense and intriguing sound. Recently, the decision has also been made to part ways with vocalist Steen Knudsen, again because the standards of the band demand musicians of a skilled level. This has been accomplished with Lasse “Garn”, a personal friend, and one with whom the band has already performed several successful shows. This four-song EP “Ascent To the Sky”, recorded in four days with Christian Zalewski at the TrackZ studio, features a first taste of the full-length album that Insicknia will be recording in June 2008. The album will be mixed and/or mastered by an acclaimed producer, and artwork will, as on the EP, be delivered by the brilliant Danish artist Thomas Pringle.A Danish tour with renowned Danish metal bands Nembience and Rageborne is in the works for autumn 2008, where Insicknia will be promoting the album. As the band is very interested in a distribution deal, record companies are of course more than welcome to attend these events.Since the release of “Now Entering….”, Insicknia have played for large audiences and shared stages in both Denmark and Germany with such bands as Hatesphere, Mercenary, Urkraft, and The Burning.
