About Me

Born & raised in Queens, NY where legends such as James Brown, Eli G, Lena Horne, and James Todd Smith were born it's no surprise that he seemed to have an innate talent in the arts that shined at a very young age. His Grandmother (who was a lead vocalist in a swingband/oprea singer) quotes "he started singing and dancing as soon as he could walk and talk". . .Noticing his budding talent she didn't let his gifts go to waste. At the age of 5 he was taking up dance and drama lessons and was put in the gospel choir in his families local church. While still in highschool where Maleeq majored in choreography & performing arts he also made time to join the Thea Bowman Mass Choir, Nu Gamma Psi inc., and do volunteer service for the St. Albans VA Hospital. Currently, along with pursuing a singing career as a signed artist he appeared in plays such as "Mountain High" (Black Spectrum Theater), "Avenue X" (LMS Productions), "BNBF" (ensemble), and a small cast part in Broadway's "The Lion King". He has been seen on T.V. with spots on the APOLLO and 2 performances on T.V. talk show "The God Squad". Currently he is a member of GroOove Entertainment where he's able to utilize his skills. Maleeq is an experienced Vocalist/Rapper (currently working on LP), Actor, Dancer, and Model he's avalible for show bookingsdownload ringtone ... ..............This profile was edited with MySpace Help - Profile Creator and Editor MySpace Profile Help!

Sounds Like: Me . . .LAUGH. CRY. THINK. CELEBRATE. Written, Produced, Directed & Choreographed By D-Whit Over 50 SOLD OUT Performances!Welcome to "Ghetto Chronicles" The Musical written, produced, directed, choreographed and featuring DWhit. This show is a rare musical journey through both the pain and triumph of inner city living, all told through some of NYC's hottest artists who can rap, sing, dance and speak poetry. GC is a hip hoppin', funky new musical (first debuted in February 2006) which chronicles different situations that teens & young adults deal with almost on a daily basis such as senseless shootings, one parent homes, the misuse of the "n" word, teen pregnancy, teen violence and the wearing of negative labels of society. The show has been successfully soldout in venues such as The Payan Theatre (Times Square, NYC), The Hadley Players Theatre (Harlem), The Producers' Club Theatre (Times Square, NYC), The Triad Theatre (NYC), Socially Yours Theatre (Baton Rouge, LA) and we've performed for countless middle and high schools.
