Since moving to Los Angeles in 1999, Carlos Villalobos has become quite the multi-faceted musician writing music for rock and pop projects to scoring films and commercials to recording his own material on his own label. Hailing from Chicago, he is a multi-talented artist, producer, songwriter and mixer who also sings, plays guitars, keyboards, drums, and bass on all his music. He currently is based out of his private recording studio, Villa de Lobos, in Los Angeles, CA. Besides being the founder of his rock band ANGRY CHIWAWAH, he also founded the electronica infused project INNER-FACE, and the critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated ESPERANZA, incorporating Spanish and Flamenco guitars with global dance grooves. ANGRY CHIWAWAH, has all twelve songs from their first independent album, Unleashed (Alistar/Rhodium) featured on MTVs Real World, Road Rules, Making of the Band and Battle of the Sexes (five years running). It is available at all stores and through CD Baby.com, Amazon.com and iTunes.com. ANGRY CHIWAWAH has been featured on several sports programs from HBO's "On the Record with Bob Costas" to FOX Sports new PRIMETICKET channel theme song and ESPERANZA has been featured on various HBO shows including "Sex in the City" and is widely available.
Working under his company, Los Productions, he has written & performed music underscores for independednt movies such as Warzone, Blood Brothers, & Diablo and has scored four HBO movie specials. Carlos wrote, produced, performed and mixed the theme song, as well as the original music for the television series, Baywatch Hawaii. He recently wrote additional music cues for "Shall We Dance" (Miramax), Wes Craven's "Cursed (Miramax), and "One Way Ticket" (Valley of the Kings Productions - Canada).
He continues to write and produce original music for motion pictures, commercials, corporate videos, independent movies, movie trailers, industrials and video games. He is regularly tapped to perform, write and/or produce demos for virtually every label including Jive, Warner Brothers, Virgin, EMI, Capitol and Geffen and contributes music to television including CSI, Threshold, Close To Home, Laguna Beach, North Shore, The O.C., Smallville, among others.
