Katherine Norland

Katherine Norland is an Actress, Poet. She has been in more than 100 short films, feature films and plays. She has both produced and directed as well. She recently acted in the urban romantic comedy “Office Games” that will be in film festivals in 2009 and is currently acting a psychological spiritual horror film called “Hole” where she plays the detective’s wife Suzy. She just completed “The Pendant” directed by Nick Carter where she played a ghost from the 1800’s.She recently wrote and produced a short film “One Will have Regret” based on a poem from her first book “Poetic Prescriptions for Pesky Problems”.To further immerse herself in films Katherine has taken screenwriting classes. Her first short film she wrote and directed "Loves Lost and Found" won the Audience Choice Award at the Shortie Challenge Film Festival in Venice, California. She co-wrote a short film “On The Fringe” with members of Excellent Journey Pictures and it was a finalist in the 2005, 168 Hour Film Project. In 2006 was nominated Best Actress at this festival and in 2007 her team’s film won 3 awards including Best Comedy and Audience Choice Award for best short film.She is currently writing a feature thriller called “For Rent” and continues to write poetry daily with several poetry books she is currently compiling.When not acting or writing she spends her time volunteering for different organizations that help today’s youth. She is mentor for I Have A Dream program, and has been a guest poet at places like the Occidental Collage for the “Upward Bound” program and The Chosen Generation Network.
