About Me


We have been very lucky to play to the best crowds on the Northshore! I'll be the first to admit, we don't use gimmicks, we don't sell T-shirts or even CD's at our gigs, We just love to play music and party with everyone. If you've been to a show then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I will say that the future may hold those things...well...no gimmicks but I like the idea of a t-shirt..lol, but for now its pure music. The Huey P's celebrate their 7th year as a band in 2008 and we would like to say thank you to the clubs we have been honored with playing and the people that fill them. In no particular order...

DOUGLAS STEPANEK - BASS/VOCALS

JOE SIMS - GUITAR/VOCALS

RICK STRAHAN - DRUMS/SPOONS

Influences: The influences of The Huey P's range from Motown Oldies, 60's and 70's Rock and Roll, and todays artists. They firmly believe that you are always learning, from the old and the new. Doug Stepanek listed his major influences as James Jamerson(Jan. 29, 1936 - Aug 2nd, 1983 RIP) Duck Dunne, Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, Victor Wooten and Billy Sheehan. He also added that he could go on and on with more but didnt want to bore anyone. Rick Strahan offered his influences as Neil Peart, Kenny Aronoff and Buddy Rich. Joe Sims added his influences as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix. A really good chemistry powers this trio into a mesh of great talent and drive. :::::Love The Music:::::
