About Me

I once accidentally put a Swiffer dust cloth in the dryer with my clothes instead of a Bounce fabric softener sheet. My clothes were full of electricity but at least they were dust free (sort of how I'd like my life to be).
I never watch television. I own two TVs that are very dusty and I don’t even know if they work anymore. The last thing that I regularly watched on TV was The West Wing. After the 4th season, when Sorkin stopped doing the writing, it lost its sense of humor and I lost interest.
Back when I did watch TV, I absolutely LOVED the Gilligan’s Island episode with The Mosquitos and the Honey Bees! But I was devastated when I found out that Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) didn’t do her own singing. Well, I guess maybe she had a sore throat? Cough, cough. Ahem…
I read a lot. Just finished A WIDOW FOR ONE YEAR by John Irving...liked it a lot. Also just finished WICKED by Gregory Maguire. VERY disappointed in it. On to THE FOUNTAINHEAD. I loved ATLAS SHRUGGED and I'm told that FOUNTAINHEAD is even better. We'll see. And I'm working on THE CIVIL WAR by Shelby Foote. I doubt I will finish it before I'm 50.
I love, love, love Arthurian Lit.
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD made me cry. Not just a little.
I write a lot. Songs. Journals. Poems. Experiences. Whatever moves me.
I’m studying music and learning to play the guitar.
Movies…hmmm. Nothing really engaging currently. I loved CINEMA PARADISO.
I was an actor/singer/dancer for about 15 years. My two degrees are in Theatre Arts.
Now I mostly just sing. I dance when I drink too much, and I act when I’m trying to get out of trouble.
I’m a juggler, too. And I was once a clown.
It's a strange and somewhat amusing and confusing contradiction in my personality that while I detest violence, I am fascinated with the art and history of personal combat. I studied stage combat with Paddy Crean, who was a fight master with the Society of British Fight Directors, and Errol Flynn's stunt double. I'm a former member of the Society of American Fight Directors. Swords are my favorite. Smallsword and broadsword. Rapier and dagger are fun too. Quarterstaff is hard for petite people.
I’m a minimalist. I like that I don’t have a lot of stuff.
Fitness and nutrition are very important to me. They have to be.
I’m a depressive. And a hiker.
I try to help people see the good in themselves.
Mountain girl. Knitter. Butterfly tamer (lepidopterist).
Half French, half Italian.
I wear my heart on my sleeve, my skirt, my denim jacket, my boots and my panties.
I probably care too much about what people think of me.
I’ve never been in love (I pretended once, and I was fooled once). I don’t think I know what love is, really. But I know what love isn't.
I’m not afraid of being alone. But I don’t always want to be alone.
I’m certainly not afraid of dying. But I don’t want to until I feel I’ve done what I came here to do.
My fondest memory hasn't happened yet.
I believe in the power of good in the world. I also believe in the power of evil. I wish good was always the winner.
My purpose in life is to contribute to the beauty of the Universe, and I am continually searching for ways to do so. I'm also continually searching for good shrimp.
