Dropping Amy is a band that started in the beginning of 2007. Their drummer Magnus needed a band to record for his final project in the RAP program at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. He got together with two of his friends, the guitar players Gustav and Simon (from The Lunatones) to write a few songs to record.
A few weeks before the project was due they still needed lyrics and a singer. They turned to their friend Dusty Watson (drummer for Slacktone and Agent Orange) who also write lyrics and sing. And fortunately he had some lyrics that suited the songs, so one week before deadline they finally got vocals recorded too.
Now a year have has passed and Magnus, Gustav and Simon are back in Sweden after their studies at M.I. but still driven to continue the band. In the beginning of 2008 they called their former bass player Kristoffer, from The Lunatones, and asked him to join the band.
All members live in different parts of Sweden, but write and work on songs individually. And in May -08 they all got together for a week to record all their new songs and ideas. During the summer they worked on lyrics/vocals and a few more songs to record. They plan to release the album sometime during the fall 2008 or early 2009.
Today Dropping Amy consists of Magnus Andersson -Drums, Gustav Wilhelmsson -Guitar, Simon Palmer -Guitar and Kristoffer Högberg -Bass. On the new recording, the vocals will probably be done by Kristoffer.
