Soulogik is a transcontinental rapper/producer whose background hails from Mozambique, and who was blessed enough to travel to different parts of the world such as Zimbabwe, South Africa, The United Kingdom (London), and the United States (DMV) where he has been since 2003. As an artist, he wishes to share his world experiences which came to him courtesy of his father's civil duties for his country. He does so through songs which display poignant but insightful lyrics while trying to make a difference, in terms of re-establishing autonomy, in a world that seems to be going towards a state of apathy and ignorance. Consequently, he has chosen to take on a slightly rebellious but intellectual persona that is rarely seen in hip-hop today.
Although it was vital for him to uphold his father's political charisma, the hip-hop bug snuck into him during the early 90's while watching Yo MTV Raps. It grew within him, and later inspired him to not only wear the iconic "Tim boots" and baggy jeans, but also to learn the reality behind the pictures painted by the likes of Nas, Ice Cube, Arrested Development, and others. That sparked his interest to later follow both his father's and his oldest brother's affection for reading history, psychology, and philosophy books while borrowing whatever he could from his brother's understanding of hip-hop and poetry at the time. That said, Soulogik is now an individual who is focused on thinking outside of the box with music and poetry as his main anchors.
So far his body of work (in terms of released material) consists of two mixtapes - Urban Elements & The Last Mic on the Left - both of which can be downloaded from his website [click to see]. His future projects include the debut album "Higher Unlearnin" and a slew of collaborations for the future.
