About Me

Let's see - started piano lessons at 8, public performances at 10 (recitals, all important recorder solo for sister's 5th grade class), voice lessons at 11 (those didn't last though - I wanted to be Donna Summer, she wanted me to be Little Orphan Annie), and children's shows and theater for as long as I can remember, high school plays and muscials, ballet, jazz, etc. I met my two band buddies Jack and Sherry in 1989 at the Riverfront playhouse. We started performing together after acting in a skit as the back up band to a blues triangle player. Our harmonies fell into place right away and we have been performing as Acoustic Alternatives ever since. Basically, the back up band for the Triangle Blues Man has lasted for about 15 years. Maybe someday he'll play with us again :::sigh::: In the meantime, I've written or cowritten music for a ton of theater productions (list in the blog). A few years ago, I ran into an old college classmate who (as it turns out) is a country music recording artist who was starting to work on her second album. Tracylyn Lendi and I started collaborating and have cranked out some songs for that album. She's also had me come into the studio to provide keyboards and back up vocals a few times. (What a blast!) Currently, I'm diving pretty heavily in the composing part of my life, and performing with Acoustic Alternatives. You can catch the band most weekends around the Chicagoland area. Stop by if you want to have some fun and add the fourth voice to the harmonies.

Sounds Like: Hard to say - it depends on the need. The four pieces on the site are from shows, vocal demos, and stuff I just like that I wrote. What you might not hear are the industrial video pieces, country pieces, musical pieces, etc. The industrial stuff is very functional, but just that, industrial. The theater stuff has been compared in reviews to a cross between Pink Floyd, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and George Winston. The pop stuff - I just don't know. The country stuff seems to be leaning more towards a Carole King feel. I'll find an identity in there somewhere...
