DJ SOLKO aka Salvatore Brocco, the”engineer of nu grooves”, is one of the most representative dj of the broken beatz and future jazz scene in Italy, now he plays also innovative deep house with a detroit soul techno touch. He started his career in May '91 when he bought his firsts records, signed by De La Soul, Crystal Waters and Africa Bambaata. Today, undoubtely he is the highly esteemed Pontine DJ, Solko has many residences in the best clubs of the Ulysses Riviera. Solko boasts a fascinating mini tour in Paris,he performed at the Elysèe Montmartre and OPA, and in Finland Kerma, Bundolo Club and We Got Beef remix club he also added a sound-track to the presentation of Anton Corbjin's exibition, in the modern art museum of Bologna , in the 2003 Movie Festival of Venice Solko added a sound-track to the movies party in competition. In October 2003,he took part at the 27th Rome Jazz Festival, like DJ supporter of NU SPIRIT HELSINKI live show. In the last period he gave life to "SOLKO ENSEMBLE": a project born in parallel, to the record xperience of "Olio Project", for The Dub Records of Claudio Coccoluto&Savino Martinez,with the aim to realize a cultural exchange, between the djing and the live sessions of jazz instrumentalists. He also works with a vj project duo called Pixel Orchestra and with the fashion designer Miscel Meri Carbon . DJ Solko was one of the residents dj's of the ZULU club in Gaeta and was regular guest at RE::Life parties in La Palma Club Rome and he has others residences along Italy (Milan,Naples,Rome) with his personal one-night: ModeRn: playing togheter with djs as Volcov, Domu, Jazzanova, Xcoast and NuSpiritHelsinki. Solko token his degree in Engineering,he is a member and founder of "Associazione Italiana Cultura Elettronica", now he's collaborating with different musicians to complete his next record productions, are out now a remix version signed Solko&Romano for “Flashing room” by Xcoast (also included in “La Maison compilation vol.5” and on the cd compilation of Acid Jazz magazine) and a remix for “Rovena song” by Alberto Dati on Disturbance rec. Now is out a new track by Solko&Romano on Pulverising! ep of the famous german label Pulver rec., :it’s titled: “back to 90’s”.
