Who is Jones Inque?Jones Inque is a Dallas based production team made up of three members who each bring their own unique style to the table. The team members are:
Chavis C. Jones- A Louisiana native, his musical influences are many and include Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, and Mozart. Chavis listens to all genres of music, and studied classical music in college, attributing his interest in music production to L.L. Cool J's track I'm Bad. Chavis, also known as Young Jones, says "Ever since I heard I'm Bad fifteen years ago I've wanted to produce music." Chavis also takes some of his influence from Dr. Dre and Organized Noise. Chavis is currently on the road, touring as part of the crew working with Charlie Wilson, and soaking up more knowledge, experience, and industry connects!
Turhan Jones- Born in New Jersey, Turhan moved to Dallas at a fairly young age. At home, the music he heard was everything from Motown to the Beatles, Richie Havens to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young...thereby ensuring his ears were open to all formats. He spent his young years in and around the music industry, soaking up knowledge directly from many of the artists and producers making it happen. Turhans' mother worked for Dallas based radio station K104 for 10 years before moving on to EMI records, A&M records, and more. During this time Turhan had the opportunity to meet and speak with the likes of the late Roger Troutman, who served as a mentor, as well as Dr. Dre, Jay Z, Ice Cube, and many more. At the age of 15 he began to work at K104, furthering his industry education by attending BRE, Urban Network, Jack the Rapper, and R&R conferences. Surrounded by music, and with music in his blood, Turhan was destined to be a Producer. Turhan has been making tracks since grade school, and if there is one thing he knows, it is how to stay afloat in such a fickle industry. "You've got to be versatile to stay alive in the music industry. People get tired of hearing the same thing over and over again," says Turhan, whose varying style of production has something for everyone.
O'Odham Jones- Also a Jersey native, and T. Jones' first cousin, O. Jones' father was a percussionist for the group Beans. O's father taught him about Latin music, and how to play the congas at a young age. He got his introduction to the world of recording from Sylvester Stewart of Sly and the Family Stone. Sly, who is a close friend of O's mother, came to stay with the family in 1989. "I got to see Sly record with the Barkays at the house," he says, "and that was the ultimate inspiration." Sly taught O'Odham what building a recording studio involves, not to mention shared wisdom that only a veteran could possess.
Jones Inque still uses some of the equipment that Sly left behind, and are working on finishing some of Sly's unreleased songs. Peep our artist, Rap Phenom, K-Double's page, the game is in trouble now. Jones Inque produced all but three tracks on Dubs debut album "Double Back", which is available now (inquire within).
