Evan Dorfman and Brendan Jackson began playing music together in 2002, when they were both in the 8th grade. Now, six years later, they serve as the creative nucleus of The Crisis Team, responsible for the band's musical catalog. Their creative process differs from the majority of contemporary band's, however, in that they rely on subtlety and a "quality over quantity" approach where musical balance is key.
Anyone who has seen the band live can testify to their musicianship. Yet while the band can certainly deliver the goods on stage, varying from African polyrhythmic drum interludes to incendiary guitar solos, they'd rather have solid songwriting than indulgent showmanship.
The band finds much of its influence in rock, but also seeks to give listeners variation, venturing into reggae, folk, rockabilly, alternative, and blues. Their EP, released in June of 2008, serves as a demonstration of their unwillingness to be pigeonholed.
