Urban FX is a diverse group of talented individuals that build the culture of hip-hop through live performances, workshops, and community outreach. Aside from performing and exhibiting their exceptional choreography, Urban FX shares their talents and passion for dance with others by specializing in hip-hop dance classes. Through their exclusive choreography, unique fashion statements and carefully selected music, Urban FX is able to enhance awareness and create a sense of belonging in the hip-hop culture for all.
In spring 2000, Vanessa Andrada founder of Urban FX, began to conceptualize the creation of a professional hip-hop entertainment company. Her goal was to make San Diego a new home for innovative powerhouse hip-hop dance. After many months of planning, along with great efforts to round up other equally passionate group of staffers, Urban FX formed officially in January 2001. Urban FX started from scratch with great care, everything from the name, logo, staff selection, marketing strategy, and even their unique choreography.
