Well, actually Michael Nagy senior was born in Hungary and escaped to Oakland Ca. in 1956.He plays Harmonica and was an active Hungarian follk dancer from an early age.Their Grandfather on their mothers side was a vaudville performer in the midwest.
The Nagy Boys started as the four brothers Michael,Jani,Tamas and Jozsef.They had a local hit in the summer of '87on radio station KXGO with a song called " You know I'll be there" under the name "Girl Patrol" along with other acomplishments.(See their individual sites)
One of thier mentors was Carl Anderson a friend of the family a jazz singer and played Judas in the motion picture "Jesus Christ Superstar".They have now expanded with 7 talented children (Brandy Rose, Michaels daughter is now an acomplished vocalist and actress) and cousins,and they have a great wealth of family and friends who are all basically family and are now spread out all over the west coast.Many view Lea Nagy as a great Indian mother,and she does teach on the Hupa reservation
