Solusion

About Me

Bright fusion, a solution; conclusion to the illusion of confusion.
Solusion is currently a two-piece acoustic ensemble established in 2003, comprised of vocalist, Karolinka Ponto and guitarist, Tristan Versailles. The style is gritty, funky and soulful with a folk edge. The sound is raw, passionate and natural; invoking an exciting and impulsive energy that drives to inspire, awaken and provoke the listener. Solusion are dissatisfied with the hypocrisy of our unstable society and that upon which it has been built. They are tired of struggling to accept the myriad infuriating injustices around them and senseless passivity or denial of the truth by so many. This compels them to create and express honestly and without fear or constraint.
Their audience are equally frustrated with the world and searching for answers and direction. Solusion provide empathetic relief and serve as a voice of determination; willing to stand up and be counted by playing and saying exactly what they feel in an effort to reignite the connection between instinct and logic in humanity and restore balance. Open to new philosophies and sounds, they offer their perspective on life, love, hope, despair, money and important political and spiritual issues that affect every one of us in some way. Solusion believe that there is no use for complaint unless it is backed by action. They are not ready to quit complaining, so they act…
It's still a process. Bear with us while we sort out the line-up! Working on an acoustic set (the first 4 tracks on here are a part of that) and ready to start gigging yesterday... Look out for us. Dates listed below!
All tracks on this page are live or "one-take" recordings. Solusion is an organic project, so the music comes as it is, with no fussy editing, effects or processing. Expect bum notes and breaks - accept them! Music is REAL!
You can hear some old recordings of Solusion tracks at www.myspace.com/linkalove as well as some poetry and all that good stuff...

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: linka (p'duction, arrangement, lyrics and vox) and Tristan Versailles (composition, arrangement and guitar). What a team!

We want a reliable drummer who can take the lead, a competent and imaginative percussionist and a slaptastic, deep, dirty, funky bassist!!! And a free-fingered keyboardist... All must have natural feel and good sense of rhythm and not be afraid to improvise and f*ck-up in rehearsals. If anyone's got a connection, please let us know!

"Bills", "Easy" and "Solo", written and sung by me and composed and played by Tristan in our acoustic set-up minus percussion. Same thing goes for "Lullaby". 4 of our latest tracks (as of Spring 2007). More to come...

The other recording is around 2 years old. The live version of "The Hustle" is played by co-writers Bruno Kavanagh (guitar) and Rudyard Burley (bass). They jammed the riffs while i fumbled along on the drums - ha actually i wasn't that bad - we got a nice groove together and i wrote the lyrics on the tube train on my way home! Levi Svendro played the show with us.

Tracks "Fragrance of Innocence" and "Breakdown", which you can listen to versions of on my other page (www.myspace.com/linka), feature Tristan Versailles and are part of the Solusion set. Because we don't yet have full live or acoustic recordings they are not yet on this page. Soon, though.

Get an idea.
