About Me

HELLO! This is my place to offer folks; my version of:
Blues / R & B - Soul / Gospel music. I play amplified Harmonicas and sing, this music. Musically this is what I really love to do!
Thanks to one of my High School buddy, friend and local track star: Otis M. for turning me onto the Harp (Harmonica) back about 1970! He told and showed me how to do basics on a Harp. Then he showed me and told me how that if I listened to and played along with the Blues Harp greats on record, I would begin to learn more and more about tones, runs, leads and "riffing" and "comping" with the music. I soon ended up working with several versions of a suburban band. I stretched out to those R & B, Boogie, and Rock & Roll bands of the day, to gain more variety in my playing styles. All this happened at a time when I went from just "hanging out" with friends that played in bands, to doing "Roadie duties" (carrying equipment, patching guitar cords, setups/tear-downs & sound reinforcement), to sitting in for singers with sore throats or others late to practice, to finally joining the band as Lead singer, Harp player and percussionist (Shakers, Cow Bell, Wood Block & Tambourines)
After spending most of the 70's singing and playing in or out of suburban Cincinnati bands [Beouwulf, Sinbad & Fat Chance], I dropped-back to doing sound reinforcement for a few more years and then took a so-called "musical" early retirement. In spite of not being in a working band, I could still hit those notes I heard in my head whenever the spirit moved me and my Harps were nearby! Like most folks, even though I settled into the hectic family life, I still had the love of playing Blues music. Sometimes, if it were the right place and right time, I was still able to sit-in with a band for a few songs and definitely hold my own (or so I was told, by friends that were present).
Now I find myself having lived here in the State of Michigan since 1993 and since being "forced" into retirement, by my day-job in 2006; I've come full-circle and returned to music I did years ago.
I truly found a lifetime musical friend in my Harp(s), especially since they're so portable and all that.
I'm often available, interested and open to collaborations with other musicians (Studio/Session/Background vocals)
