(formerly known as J-Willz, born Jermaine Williams on November 22, 1988) is a Baltimore based hip-hop artist known for his lyrics that focus on the resurrection of the rap game and the issues that we are faced with in the world today. Many compare him to a Talib Kwelib or Common after one verse. And say he is exactly what the game has been missing, he brings a sense of hope and intelligence to hip-hop while at the same time has a ruggedness about him that allows him to relate to many different fan bases.History_____________________________________________Si nce 1992 Jermaine Williams has been composing poems. This eventually led to him performing his pieces; rather it was to a room full of people of just to his reflection he put his heart and soul into it. It wasnt until Sept. of 99 when he truly found the similarities of poetry and rap. So once he tuned his skills he began battle rapping in lunch, before class, and at home. Battle after battle, Jermaine proved he was a force to be reckoned. This earned him the rap name J-Willz. But as a result of the pressure to stay on top he sacrificed his pure rap style to fit in and to defeat his challengers. So as the years past he lost sight of the true meaning behind his style. By 03 hed began smoking and doing a lot of other things hes not proud to look back on.The winter of 05 would prove to be J-Willzs trying period. Days before his 17th Birthday, the naïve J-Willz was down at his friends house. One thing led to another and Jay found himself in the middle of a brutal gang bang. J-Willz nearly died on the 19th of November, but he didnt and lucky for us he didnt. Jay wound up having reconstructive surgery done on his nose and eye, and as soon as he felt back to his self he recorded a track that told the whole story to the Never Let Me Down beat. This was one of twelve tracks on his first mix tape, MAINETAIN IN THE GAME. This one was big for two reasons he was able to speak out on what happened, and this symbolized the death of J-Willz and the birth of J-L.A.W.. The new hip-hop soul artist is currently in the studio working on his first actual album, IM BACK.Jermaine J-L.A.W. Williams said that Kanye Wests Through the Wire was one of the biggest reasons he didnt crack while he was healing in the hospital. He also continues to say that, Kanyes, Family Business, second verse describes him to the T.I woke up early this morning wit a new state of mind/ A creative way to rhyme/ Without uses nines and guns/ Keep your nose to sky and keep heart to god/ And keep your face to the rising sun.Genres: R&B / Hip-Hop Compared Artist: Kanye West Com-mon Talib Kweli

Influences:How many of us have ever given up to early and ended up missing your "season". I have plenty of times. You could be in training camp, the actuall season, or even when you decide to even join and then doubt kicks in. Could be from past experiences, could be from things you heard, or just your own fear and thinking to much. Now you are in the bleachers while you could be on the field earning your trophy...even if the team sucks you want to still be out there, right. Well this happens in our daily walk as well. It could be a dream to open a business, move to another state, go to school, whatever but because of whatever we give up.In training camp its hard work, blood, sweat, and tears as we call it. And sometimes we dont see the use of it. This brings to mind Ecclesiastes 11, where it speaks of the value of diligence. It starts off telling you to cast your bread in the water...you got to take the risk of even trying first yall. Then it speaks of giving to people generously (it may be giving of yourself). Give more than enough, because we dont know what can happen tommorow, you may need that person or whatever. Sometimes we had to do pushups for another team mate because they couldn't get through. Then they talk about the tree falling, dont worry which way it will fall and you getting your lumber. You will get yours. In camp, dont worry about being treated unfair. In life dont worry about being treated unfair, we will get ours as long as you sow. Everybody must eat. Then it comes to how we wait for the perfect times to do something. "Im going to wait till im tall enough or im going to wait till they tell me i can speak", sow your seeds no matter what. You know what you have in you, work on it now and harvest time must come. We dont know the way the wind blows or even how a childs bones are formed in the wound, thats the same way we dont know God's works. Dont let nothing stop you, it may turn out good, it may not but go for it.Training camp like we said before is rough, but is it stronger than you? Is your life struggles stronger than you, or will you make it through camp and win the season than next year tell the rookies, "you can make it too"? Thats how life should work, go through the test, share your testimony with who needs it. We can make it family...together. We made it through training camp and came out a family, not just a team. We are the body of Christ, i cant say i dont need you. Thats like the hand saying fingers i dont need you. We do it better together.Thou-Art your dreams and gifts, dont wake up from them, live them for God...Peace & Love
