Days of Loathing (writing new album)

The concept of Days of Loathing actually began in 2003 with two soldiers deployed to Baghdad, Iraq; two musicians who loved listening to metal and decided hey why don't we start our own little thing? Under the original name Bias Society that little thing turned into a serious band fairly quickly after original guitarist ZIP and Drummer Chris began writing music quickly after realizing they both played on about the same level. In July 2004 after returning from deployment, a 3 song demo was recorded with a full line-up and released in Germany. At the time, the sound was a type of melodic European metal style. Soon after the Release of the demo, Chris and Zip returned to the states and forged a new line-up at Fort Riley, KS and the style changed to a thrashier death metal style with the adition of Hugo on vocals. After playing battle of the bands in 2006 and a few shows in the surrounding area, Zip had to return home for some family issues, Hugo was stationed somewhere else, and the band once again went dormant.
It wasn't till mid 2008 when Chris met Guitarist Randy that a new spark had been emmitted and Days of Loathing was re-formed. Vocalist Chris and bassist Mike were added and the band had a full line-up. It was under this line-up that incineration was writen. In October, most of the band was deployed to Iraq again, but this time Chris and Randy left together, so continued writing music. About half way through the tour, Chris ran into current vocalist Bobby and he introduced him to now lead guitarist Andrew and Basist Christian. Now the band has been in full swing and writing the album Shrapmetal. This is sure to tear Days of Loathing fans a new asshole, and bring the masses to hear this new wave of destruction upon returning from Iraq!
