About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

The alt indie-rockers HINGe write songs to be remembered, make riffs to be envied and play live with their hearts on the floor, dripping of blood, sweat and tears.
Hailing from the south side of Birmingham, UK, HINGe (HERE to INSPIRE the NEXT GeNERATION) formed in July 2006 and began playing guitar together after drunken nights out. Soon after sobering up, they realised they sounded alright and so the band was born.
Originally meeting through different social circles, foundations were formed early in 2006 when Aaron and John jammed out with their acoustic guitars at John's flat in Acocks Green. Then in the summer of 2006, John's long term school mate Mike returned home from University and fancied a piece of the action!
Having supported American band "Babystrange" in only their second gig, things looked promising from the start and continued to progress with a support slot for Inspiral Carpets frontman "Tom Hingley and The Lovers". Most recently the band have supported upcoming indie acts "Beggars" and "New Education" at Birminghams Bar Academy on 8th October 2008. With over 110 gigs under their belt, the band's belief in playing live whenever/wherever they can is fundamental to their success so far as an unsigned band.
The trio go from strength to strength with their confidence mounting, musical talent overflowing and spirited performances gaining a reputation, they have played an abundance of headlining shows on home turf and all across the country.

Citing Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Blink 182 as their most contemporary influences with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC being their erstwhile influence's, HINGe's musical plethora would take an eternity to list, so let's let the music do the talking shall we?!?!

Enjoy.
The band have also received air time on Brett Birks and Louise Brierleys radio show BBC WM Introducing. After a rapturous audience response to their demo "State of Mind" the lads were invited to play live on the show on 30th October 2008.
