About Me

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and fellow myspace maniax. Welcome to MY SPACE and I thank you for taking time out to read this. My name is Deewaan and I’ll be host over the next 5 mins or 15 mins (if you read real slow (like me)). I am a Songwriter and Producer, who specialises in a genre called “real f*ckin hot music” ;-)I believe a Producer should be able develop musical concepts which fall under a number of conventional genres. What makes me unique and every other producer for that matter? It is down to the way the chemicals in our brains mix together to make songs based on our perception of previous experiences, musical skills and of course, the moment. The way my brain works is truly unique, which fuels my ability to make music that is unique and fresh. To be honest, no one can do EXACTLY what I do and the same works the other way round. There is only one person in this world with the chemical makeup of YOUR brain, which causes you to think in a certain way… and that’s YOU. So whatever you are, a dancer, makeup artist, songwriter, film director, story writer, housewife, producer… the way you do your job is like no one else. Why was MJ such a huge star? Yeh, we love his songs. But what made his songs? It was the chemical composition of his brain + and spiritual composition of his mind. So in effect, when we hear Billy Jean being played in the last half hour of our night out and we go so crazy that it feels like we’ve temporarily been scooped from this world in to a place so energizing and carefree – we are fundamentally appreciating MJ’s brain and mind. Now what made MJ’s brain and mind…well that’s another story… What better way to get to know someone than to discover their likes and dislikes? Well as you may have gathered…. I like music. In fact I love music. Actually, though this may sound real cheesy, a big part of me lives for music. There is something about music that isn’t present in other things in life. I believe there is something very spiritual about music and that the most amazing gift we were blessed with (after human life) is Music. How can one explain music? Why is it that when musical notes are constructively placed together it makes us feel a certain way and forces one to reflect, move, contemplate, smile or cry. What are musical notes? They are nothing but frequencies. That’s crazy huh?! Everything we hear has a frequency just like every note on the piano has a frequency. So when you’re sitting on the dock of the bay listening to a blend of the sea and seagull. Both the sea and seagulls have a frequency and sound that when coupled together makes you feel something different than if you were to hear them in isolation. I like deep discussions and am always curious to know others’ points of view on certain things in life. I don’t like to discuss politics much, because it is invented by man and there is nothing natural about it. Political discussions are always heated based on opinions, usually very strong. And well, opinions are like belly buttons. I really like and appreciate the following artists because their music is strongly associated with very special times of my life and experiences which I will never forget; Tracy Chapman, Otis Redding, Ben E King, David Gray, Eagle Eye Cherry, Top Loader, Raphel Sadiq, Ar Rahman, Lionel Richie, Gurdas Maan, Zero 7, Morcheeba, The Drifters, Hans Raj Hans, Lois Armstrong, Oasis, Nitin Sawnhey, John Legend, Snow Patrol, St Germain and Radiohead It’s hard to say which are my all time favourite tunes. But the ones that are up there are: A Change Is Gonna Come, Stand By Me, Champagne Supernova, Cast No Shadow,What a Wonderful World, Easy, Fast Car, Revolution, Save Tonight, Dancing in Moonlight, Sitting on the Dock, Sajna, All Night Long, Peer Therai Jaan. I like tea with masala, normal tea and green tea. I like Sara Lee chocolate gateau. I love reading about music, business, religion, philosophy and personal development. I like meeting new people that have deep and beautiful views. I like the gym. I LOVE the MV8800, the Avalon VT737 and the 1176. There are some quality presenters out there I really rate Johnny Vaughan, Melvin and Rickie, Postboy, Robin Banks, Welshy… the are funny as hell! Favourite books: Roots, Silver Sword, The Gift, Think and Grow, Shantaram, The Kite Runner, The Richest Man in Babylon. I will keep this positive… will disclose my dislikes another time. I am currently writing songs and producing for a number of artists in UK, Jamaica and US. I have been doing this professionally for just over a year and have been fortunate enough to work with some really cool and talented artists/songwriters and producers…. Nick ‘Fury’ (Produced for TI/Lil Flip/Busta Rhymes…), Award winning Dancehall artist ‘Ce’cile’, Keisha White, Michie One, Smujji , Ward21, Ash King, Skatta (Coolie Dance), UK Team, Lyrican (one of UK’s most talented rappers), Z Music And this list just gets bigger by the week. Prior to my career as a Songwriter/Producer, I was studying for my degree and graduated from the University of Birmingham. A few weeks later, things took a crazy turn and the foundations of my music career were laid out before me…^ THANK YOU ^ …I consequently decided not to take the corporate route and do what I have always wanted. It is still early days but things are getting more stable by the day and opportunities seem to wander in at a nice pace..Deewaan
