In the constantly changing world of Hip-Hop, the only artists who are truly original are the ones who stay on the cutting edge of new sounds and style. One artist who has managed to be an individual throughout his career is H-Bomb. Born Charles H. Woody, Dec. 19, 1974 in Concorde N.C., H-Bomb began his career in hip -hop early as a dancer. By the age of 14 he had already began rapping. Due to the influence of artist such as KRS-ONE, Redman, Run-DMC, EPMD, and the Roots, rap had become a major part of H-Bombs life by the time he was 17. Even at this young age ,H-Bomb was already developing a style so versatile and diverse that it couldnt be compared to any other rapper, and he was quickly gaining notoriety as one of the most original artist to hit the CT underground Hip Hop scene. In addition to performing as a solo artist, H-Bomb formed a group called Krymson Dawn with three other CT M.C.s Both in and out of Krymson Dawn, H-Bomb was enjoying success. In 1997, he released his first solo album, Dictations which was produced by D.J. Stress. The album made it clear, through 14 head banging tracks that H-Bomb has something raw and original and that message was delivered in each of the 1500 copied that were sold. The same year Krymson dawn also released their debut album independently called entitled The Underworld was a hit selling over 4,000 copies in CT and throughout the east coast. With the success of the The Underworld, Krymson dawn began performing extensively. They took first place in local talent shows, appeared at clubs and opened for larger venues, such as the 98 Summer Bash in New London, C.T. and opening for Redman, Nas, Mobb Deep, and Eminem at the CT Expo Center 99 Summer fest in Hartford CT. In 2000, H- Bomb got a chance to prove himself outside of the Hip Hop community when he was cast in a minor role in an independent film titled King Midas which was written and directed by Brandon David Cole. In addition to acting in the film, which was introduced at NYU in New York City, He also co-wrote the soundtrack. Since then, H-Bomb has been bringing his unique style to an ever increasing audience, opening for such acts as Jadakiss and Bathgate, appearing for benefit shows and in radio promoted events. With his unusual metaphors, distinct voice and incomparable style, H-Bomb will definitely become a driving force in the evolution of Hip Hop music.
