I am nobody. Then again, I am somebody in the real world. How else could this account have been set up otherwise? What I mean is, in a way, I am not real, but then again I am real.
Without being cryptic about it, one thing I will reveal about myself is that I have another MySpace account, where I keep in contact with my friends, or serve as an extra link to some of my friend's band pages.
I suppose I serve that purpose with one or two people that are listed as my "friends" on that page. Those who have just added me for some unknown reason, and when I accept them, they rarely engage in any concact with myself. And so I began to wonder: am I merely a number?
That was how I began to set up this new account, to become what could be seen as just another "friend whore". But it is more than that.
I suppose this page is also an extension to of myself, as is my other account. In my "real" account, it is filled with people who actually know me in the real world, or at least talked to me over the net. Even look at the URL of this page (http://www.myspace.com/myalteregoissomewhere).
And for this one, I choose not to reveal my true self. The only clues as to who I am are my age (I didn't use my "real" birthday, but I can reveal that I am either one year older, or one year younger, or I am in FACT the age that I say I am), the fact that I live in Ireland (for now, who knows what my future holds) and my profile picture (sometimes it's a distorted picture of me, or something weird).
What reveals even more so about my personality and my interests is my friends list itself. If I was to add that list to the one on my "real" page, then I would have a lot of friends. But really, would I actually be friends with a big name band/artist, a professional wrestler, or a porn star?
Of course not. What this friend list represents is what I am interested in. And of course, some of my real friends could be offended or laugh at the fact that I have a liking for some of the people in this friends list (e.g. thinking a band I like is crap, think it's stupid to still be interested in wrestling, or, especially women, think that I'm a pervert for adding pornstars).
So even though this is not my official account, I am in no way a "fake". This account is merely an extension of me, my other side, my inner self, my mask. And in case you thought I would, I did not add myself as a friend, so you will NOT see my actual page in the friends list below.
So if you want to know me, then send me a message, or add me if you are that way inclined (as long as you are willing to talk to me every once in a while). You can ask me anything. As long as it doesn't involve my personal life (e.g. where I live, what I do for a living, what I look like, or similar style questions). Only ask questions of a topical nature (like how is the weather, what do you think of my profile, am I hot, who do you think is going to win the Superbowl, do you think I should shave my head etc etc).
I suppose in a way I could be an online penpal (if you wish to talk to me), or I am a blank canvas, and you must do your best to colour it in.
