First, Mugz analyzed the game; He studied it, watched it, and listened to it. Then when he turned 17…. he blew up in it.His real name is Michael Stoute, but the streets call him Mugz. Born in NDG, Montreal, Mugz first thought that he would never mess with the rap game. However, growing up around strong musical talent and influence from his older cousin, Mezziah (CEO of Hus-a-lah Entertainment), and listening to artists like Jay-Z, The Game, and Ludacris, soon persuaded him to test it out.“I started freestylin’ with my dudes for fun…not thinkin’ nothin’ of it. Then someone told me I should write a track” (Mugz). He then went on to complete his first single with recently signed H-cap member, Shiness, entitled, “Too Damn Hard”. After that, it was a wrap. With his keen eye for recognizing talent, Mezziah, signed Mugz, who was only 17 at the time, to his H-Cap music label. Soon after, Mugz dropped his debut album entitled, “MUGZShot”, featuring renowned artists like Bobby Bucks, and Lady J from the H-Cap family. However, recognition for Mugz didn’t stop there. From his performances at Dawson College in Montreal, to the Industry Show in Toronto, audiences all over Canada show Mugz love every time his rhymes hit the mic. Not only do the streets love Mugz on the stage, but on the airwaves as well. Mugz has been special guest to radio stations such as K103 Fm and CKut in Montreal.Despite all that he has accomplished in such a short period of time, Mugz still remains humble and considers himself “a rookie to the game”.
