PRESS RELEASE IleenToronto, Canada -
Ileen studied piano at Brock University at the same time that Danielle Oegema studied violin. A chance meeting initiated the collaboration of these two talents. Ileen wrote the music and they played many shows at local pubs like the Mansion House, Port Mansion, L3, Rockfords, the Merchantale House and others. They became a sensation around the Niagara area and were known as a house band by the name of “Jadedâ€. In came Danno O’Shea, who played the drums. Danno added an important element to the group because of his influences and personal achievements. The threesome began to play charity festivals in their area.
After playing a large number of shows and recording many demos, Jaded went from three to one. Ileen still plays with Daniella Oegema (violinist) but she has named her current project a solo one. Ileen is immersing herself in the Toronto music scene with shows such as the Opera House, The Cameron House, the Supermarket and more. She is looking forward to what 2009 will offer.
Her new single, “Say Itâ€, is off of her new album, “Episodesâ€. “This song is themed as an emotional fall out. The song reflects someone who literally would just like the other party to ‘Say It’ because she can’t take any more. It goes through the motions of someone sitting outside their door, or on their bathroom floor, just screaming for answers to questionsâ€, states Ileen.
Ileen’s usage of piano and violin have a wonderful fused sound. The whispery style of her music creates a calm and peace which in these days, you really look for. It is almost angelic in texture with great background orchestrated sounds which the listener will definitely love.
The new album, “Episodesâ€, is due out around December, 2009. Ileen is planning a tour around Western Canada in the summer of 2009.
“I’m really excited about the upcoming album. It’s what I’ve been waiting for. I’d really like to get the songs licensed and out there for radio play.†Yes, Ileen, we are anxious, too.
