MUNNIE (THE BALLAHOLIK GENERAL)

About Me

When it comes down to unleashing the lyrical beast, up and coming artist Craig Ammons, born Aug. 26, 1986, a native of Chicago Illinois has master-minded the genre of rap/hip hop. Craig Ammons better known in the streets of Chicago as "Munnie" (money) has overcome and capitalized over the trials and tribulations his past had to offer him. With the ambition of wanting to become a NBA basketball player his dreams fell short. School was not an easy obstacle for Munnie. His hunger and personal growing pains interfered, on the verge of dropping out of high school his father and grandmother where the positive inspiration to keep young "Munnie" motivated. [No Pain No Gain] His true calling came to him while listening to Notorious B.I.G's Album Life After Death. Biggie's Lyrical ability gave Munnie the inspiration to share his pain with his fans, family, and friends. In 2000 "Munnie" began his soon to be full time career as rap/hip hop artist. At 16 "Munnie" formally know as Fanesse started writing and recording only using a tape recorder he brutalized Fabolous's "I can't deny it" instrumental, featuring Nate Dogg. Friday Nights became a ritual for "Munnie" battling for respect at the Ford City Shopping Mall and Evergreen Plaza against other local artist. With the respect he soon earned, in 2003 his father purchased him a computer. With this new toy "Munnie" soon learned how to produce his own beats. Producers such as Dr Dre., Kanye West, The Heat Makers and Just blaze played a heavy role for this decision. Dr. Dre's originality, The Heatmakers strong choice of instruments, blended with Kanye West and Just Blaze's soul sampling techniques has given "Munnie" his own sense of style.Growing up in the harsh streets of Chicago, the environment that embraced him became his soul and in order for him to live his lyrics became his life. Very few artist are able to do what the rapper known now as "Munnie" can do. From Writing writing his own lyrics to producing his own beats even eating other M.C.'s on there own tracks. Freedom Records Entertainment Presents the newest beast in the rap game"MUNNIE". The respect that he has earned has local fans comparing him to artist such as Chicago's very own Bump J and to Philidelphia's native Cassidy. His hard hitting punch lines leave listeners wanting to hear more. His Creative word play, metaphoric ability and bi-polar approach to the mic shows how crafty and creative Munnie is. Writing at least 10 songs and Producing 3 a day not only shows his hunger and dedication but is the reason behind the 3 unreleased mix tapes such as, Crack Muzik, Problem Child , and his New project Get yo Flow Up Vol. 1. Featuring artist like Big Chris, Young Goons, and Great. His abilty to Create commercial music come at ease. His love for music is an inspiration in itself. "Munnie" has performed/ co- headlined The Windy City Showdown along with Bump J and other featured artist were Triple Darkness, Legit Ballers, L.E.P., Young Goons, Brain Hussla, Columbo and many other Chicago artist.
