What makes a man strive to be the best… is it the pain that one goes through or is it the struggle one has to endure? These are the things that have shaped Leoski D into what he is today, a Writer, Rapper an Actor, a Family man and a Business man.
Growing up in the projects on the South Side of Chicago, known as “South Suicideâ€. Known for its gutter streets swamped with drugs and gang banging. In the heart of all the turmoil, then known Leonte Fraley lived in a single parent home where his mother played al green giving Leonte the soul in his music. Leonte’s Father was never in his life but he was fortunate to have a Step-Father there, often Leonte was rebellious and decided that it is his time to stand on his own. He learned to become a man the hard way. The streets became his daddy. Nothing could save him from the streets so he embraced the streets and the streets embraced him and the streets named its son Leoski D “I learned at a young age that what ever you want in this life you gotta push it pass the limitsâ€. Leoski D took charge of the streets, he was almost the recipient of a lifetime of trouble, it was the music he heard as a young man which spoke to him. He knew that it was music that would take him from his pain and struggle. Leoski D’s love for the music overpowered the gang life.
So with this frame of mind came the hustle, but this hustle was the hustle of his music.
Leoski D has slots on Mix Tapes throughout the Chicago area; his songs are in rotation on radio stations such as WPWX Power 92 fm & WGCI 107.5 in Chicago. Doing shows all over and bringing his own entourage and fans to every show from Wild Hare, 705 Auditorium, Exodus 2 and the Virgin Mega Store. Doing independent movies such as “Hot Block†with the leading role and putting the finishing touches on his second movie, and being the 1st artist in Chicago to do a Mix Tape and DVD combination, also ghost writing for several R&B and Hip-Hop artist and a street team that keeps his name buzzing in the streets. Leoski D’s love for the music made him feel like he can take all his joy and pain and inject it into a Microphone and spread it through out the world. With influences from established artist such as Eight Ball and MJG, Scarface, Tupac, Jay-Z. And even a local group Fear No Mob Leoski D’s skill has been honed to perfection. After being signed to an independent label and being stuck on that label did not dampen his spirits of taken over the rap game, today Leoski D is the CEO of his own label “IN DA STREETS RECORDSâ€. From music to movies to videos to writing, and with other projects under his belt that lets you know that “The streets raised him but, it is the music that will make him.
