Awesome punk alternative rock-n-roll that came from the border of Washington and Idaho in a place called Lewis-Clark Valley. The Lewis-Clark Valley is a industrious wasteland so it's not hard to beleive music like this came out of it all. I think "Relapse" was recorded around '93 or somethin' to that effect. Because of when this gem was recorded there is for surely a Nirvana on methamphetamines sound pouring thru the speakers. Doug has much debt to early Glen Danzig on these slabs of punk grit. Doug was doing Danzig inspired voclas before it came in vogue in the small number of years. The music? Ah the music. The music is awesome! I hear so many bands but done the Loaded way. Supersuckers, Nirvana, Fumes, early Metallica, Black Flag, early Misfits, and Exploited just to name a few. Ed frequently sounds like he is out of place in the mix 'cuz he's so good adding more to the beat than your average 4/4 punk signature. The geetars are distinctive punk metal grunge chacaphony. The leads played by Matt are a perfect mix of 80's buttrock and Greg Ginn noise. Colby plays a driving bass ala Chris of Nirvana. Great shouted out back up vocals that would seem fun to skate to if I was 17 again. Loaded do an awesomely funny Cure cover of "Lovesong" with screamed vocals instead of sung. A lot of these 1 to 2 minuters are catchy as all hell and will leave ya bobbin' your cabasa. I highly recommend tryin' to steal this from someone like when you were 17. Oh! Maybe you are. Go for it!
