Making it through boot camp is not hard… it is mentally and physically demanding. You will probably be in the best shape you have ever been when it is over, and the people you live with will become part of your family. Like a big brother that will be the first to tell you when your doing something wrong but also the first to defend and protect you to outsiders. Basically it is up to you. If you believe you can do it, then you will. I have heard young men and women say it is too easy and I have heard some say it is too hard. The attude you have makes a big difference in what your experience will be. You do not have to worry about being physically abused by the instructors… but you do have to worry about the others you are training with. If you do not do your part they will let you know. It is all about working as a team. To put it simply basic training is the least of your concerns. It is only nine weeks. The military is a difficult but rewarding way of life. So if you are joining to improve yourself, to be apart of something bigger than anything else you will ever do alone. If things like justice, pride, and integrity mean something to you and Freedom is important to you then join. But if you are just looking for a paycheck and are using the Army as a last resort then do us a favor and stay home. We do not have any room for weak links in the Army. Our lifestyle is too demanding for most people to understand or appreciate. It is a job where “everyone is a hero” and a pat on the back is the best you can hope for.
