About Me

Having a gay dad in the 70's was a tough call. As was the seemingly endless carnival of campness that passed through his house. With hindsight I realise now what a lucky individual I was to have experienced such a colourful childhood. My dad taught me many things about life. He taught me that women with deep voices were called 'it' That Steve cooking fairy cakes was a totally acceptable concept (it was the 70's) That leather and studs go hand in hand and should be worn daily (he lived in a village) He also taught me how to enjoy music, I mean really enjoy music, oh and robotic dancing.Early 80's electronica was the beginning but away from this hedonistic role model known as 'dad' I started to develop my own fascinations with electronica. It was the brightly coloured tee-shirts, smiley faced bandannas and oversized dungarees worn by friends older brothers and sisters (all styled to bohemian perfection) that drew me in. As did the need to challenge the control system and be a part of a secret society.I was too young to experience the start of the scene first hand but went to my first warehouse party in 1991 wearing hot pants and Nike trainers (the Nike I ditched but hot pants still reign supreme)Following fragmentation and a realisation that I preferred the smaller room where they played the decent stuff I began an expedition into the clubbing scene. Dancefloor bedlam has been common place over the years but now the time has come for deliverance.
