About Me

I found out recently that I do in fact carry DNA markers of Native American ancestry. Oddly, they're not the ones my mom said they would be! The dominant marker appears to be Navajo and I'm making progress toward going "home." Well, close at least. I still need to provide for my families, so I'll have to be near a location that allows me to retain my employment. That's if the company will allow me to relocate and work from home.
(3/24/2008) So the second DNA test has arrived. This is the same company that told my SO that she is 12% NA. The first test said "a spit in the ocean worth" of NA. This one at least says 5%! ACK!!! Well, like the text next to the picture says, "NDN is in your heart." And it's in mine. I've never felt more "at home" than when I was in Cree and Navajo territory (both in the first DNA profile). So there.
I have three daughters but one has disowned me, again (3/23/2008). The daughter that disowned has also provided me a granddaughter, whom I have not seen in six years. I have a stepdaughter and a stepson that I've known for six years and a stepdaughter I've known since February '08 (you'll have to visit my significant other for more on that).
I'm a computer geek, a photographer, a model train nut. I'm almost a musician, almost a craftmaker. Some say I do well at both, I don't think I agree yet.
I try very hard to see the world with the eyes of a child, recognizing the beauty in everything around me. It's tough sometimes because we're surrounded by so much negativity. I do my best to keep a smile on my face for two reasons. Eventually it spreads, and if it doesn't the recipient wonders what I'm up to.
10/3/2009 For my 51st birthday I received the most heartwarming gift. My granddaughter left me a voicemail while I was in Mauritius. She said I could call her any time. So I did on Sunday (10/5). We spoke for only a few minutes. She was out shopping for a flower girl dress. She is sweet and polite and bright and seems to like to laugh. One candle has been relit. Only one remains.

The Middle of Nowhere

When last we saw Fuzzy, he had found the Red Road. Yes, the road was literally red and it was a play on something I maybe shouldn't play on. Remember kids, don't play on the Interstate. (I'm tired. De...
