10 Gray Tuesdays is a five-piece band out of Northern Virginia. Founded by guitarist Jon Lareau, XGT started originally as an avenue for Jon to put out his original music. After moving to Virginia from Rochester, NY, Jon realized that he really wanted to play his music in front of people, but in order to do this, he needed other players in the fold. The first thing he needed was a drummer. Enter Andy Gallagher. Mainly a jazz and blues drummer, Andy has found a place to release his bottled-up energy, wailing on the skins like he could never do in his normal setting. The next ingredient was a vocalist. Keith Wackett was chosen out of a number of hopefuls. His raspy voice ranges from a gravelly, beautiful croon to a gut-busting, high-decibel scream. The next piece of the puzzle was getting a bassist who could keep up with what was being written. Matt Lawson responded to an ad on MySpace after randomly looking for interesting bands that needed musicians. Matt writes and plays bass lines that fit perfectly into the groove of 10GT. The final piece, a second guitarist, was filled by Kenny Reyna. A talented guitarist, Kenny came in on his first practice and not only got the music, he modified what was already there into something a lot more focused. With all these pieces together, along with the insatiable desire to write, record, and perform, 10 Gray Tuesdays is ready to take over the world... Or at least Virginia... well, we'll start with 703.
