It was at the Hollywood Ballroom, Stoke Poges, that Spiky Toys first made a huge impression. The announcer had only reached the third name in the line-up of Sarah, Dux, Lippy, Geoffrey and Arthur when the massive crowd erupted. They had been expecting U2.
When the Toys first burst upon the Theydon Bois scene some fifteen years ago they were immediately ignored by the music industry, a position they have successfully maintained to this day. Although, it should be noted, back then they had a different name and a totally different line-up.
They're local boys, in that they all come from their own local areas. They only met by chance when some of them temporarily left their areas and travelled to other areas. Eventually, of course, they all met in the same place, and the rest, as they say, is geography. So settle back and enjoy Spiky Toys doing what they do best, if not very well.
