About Me

I am a vegetarian, glasses wearing, insulin dependent diabetic.
I am also a 32 year old playwright.
My first professional commission Lilies in Suez has just been performed by the Heat&Light company at the Hampstead Theatre.
I am currently on the writers' list at the Bush Theatre and the Hampstead Theatre in London and have by invitation have attended workshops at the Royal Court Theatre and the Royal National Theatre Studio. I've had rehearsed readings by the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester and the Watford Palace Theatre in er, Watford. I even got some money from the Peggy Ramsay Foundation once, which was nice.
Work in progress includes Every Night Something..., Sandra Timeslide and Euphasia Superba
Spending a lot of time at www.b3ta.com keeps me vaguely sane. I do silly pictures a lot of the time. Here's my profile there: http://www.b3ta.com/users/profile.php?id=5346
I design T-shirts for sale too
Here and here and here.
I apparently look entirely too much like Anthony La Paglia from Without A Trace.
If you have any print design needs I do that too. Logos, invitations, flyers, all that kind of thing. Visit my print design site here:
www.fringeflyerdesign.co.uk
Or add me at www.myspace.com/fringeflyerdesign
I'd like to think I was a nice chap, but that's not really for me to say.
Here's a comedy video me and some friends made a few years ago, it's not desperately funny, but was fun to do:
Apparently I am: Malcolm Reynolds (Captain) Malcolm Reynolds (Captain) 90% Kaylee Frye (Ship Mechanic) 75% Zoe Washburne (Second-in-command) 65% Dr. Simon Tam (Ship Medic) 65% Wash (Ship Pilot) 55% Inara Serra (Companion) 45% River (Stowaway) 45% Derrial Book (Shepherd) 40% Jayne Cobb (Mercenary) 25% Alliance 20% A Reaver (Cannibal) 0% Honest and a defender of the innocent.
You sometimes make mistakes in judgment
but you are generally good and
would protect your crew from harm.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Nice people. Funny that.

Anyone who is vaguely interested in what I might pretentiously call "the dramatic arts". Theatre stuff. You know what I mean.

And people who couldn't give a toss about it too. Hooray for you.

And people who are still reading, despite the rest of my profile. Bless you.

Job

I handed in my notice today, so after 9 and a half years I will be leaving my job to do something I actually properly want to do. Well. After the 24th August, which will be my last day. Then there's a...

Rubbery lift

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes I realise what a bizarre industry it is I work in. In my building at the moment, in the main lift used by all the staff in the building, there is a rubber m...

Five whole pounds to spend

"How much to West Ealing?" "What?" "How much to West Ealing?" I leaned at the window. The cab driver looked concerned at my drunkenness, like I might keel over and not notice if the cab were to be sud...

Beans on toast.

I've just had beans on toast for breakfast and it occurs to me that it is one of the only meals I can think of that is acceptable (maybe just in the UK) to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In fact...
