The Vodafone Live Music Awards took place at the Carling Academy in Brixton on the 18th of September 2008 hosted by Steve Jones and Juliette Lewis.
Thankyou to ALL who voted for us and we can reveal that we did win as runners up and are now officially the second best unsigned live band in the UK! The whole night was amazing for us and there will be more to come!

ELMOR FEATURED ON XFM EXPOSED
2008 nominees for the best UK unsigned band at the Vodafone Live Awards, radio interviews in LA and TV appearances in Hollywood; being challenged to a drinking contest by WWE Wrestler ‘The Miz’ (and beating him hands down); the soundtrack behind their sponsor Henri Lloyd Jeans, reaching the No1 spot on indiestore and (almost bizarrely) No16 in the national charts of Qatar with their first double A-side ‘Remember Thinking’. Welcome to Elmor’s world.
Luke, Tristan, Andy, John, and Rich are back with their second single The Wedding Song to feed fan demand and intense industry interest alike. Ending their October UK tour with a monumental performance at Wembley Stadium, playing to 23,000 people, Elmor are surely the hottest new indie band leaping out of the underground circuit and into the attention of the mainstream masses.
The band can now count celebs such as Mark Ronson (catching them at the Vodafone Live Music Awards) and Natasha Bedingfield as fans; with the latter popping down to the band’s Britbus Showcase at London’s O2 Islington Academy tour show in June, declaring their song ‘Little Bit’ as a firm personal favourite.
Admiration for the band doesn’t stop there. National radio DJs Rob Da Bank, John Kennedy, Tim Shaw and Tom Robinson have all been supporting the lush pop sounds of Elmor. ‘A sound honed to perfection, the boys are surely on the verge of stardom’ shouts The Daily Mirror, and their growing legion of fans couldn’t agree more.

Influences: "EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE"
Sounds Like: "Elmor are the most promising Indie band to hit the UK in a long time. With quality songs such as One Step and Why I Had To Go, the boys are surely on the verge of stardom. A sound honed to perfection, bigger stages surely await this unique group"
DAILY MIRROR

"Alot of scope and expansiveness to the music, a certain kind of wind-swept romanticism too.....very impressive!"
THE INDEPENDENT

"Ever since The Beatles, The Small Faces, The Who and The Rolling Stones famously flitted between Carnaby Street's boutiques and music bars- following in their footsteps are indie-pop outfit Elmor, who bought the street to a standstill as the only band to play a live showcase by fashion label Henri-Lloyd, who have hand picked the boys to be the sound of their HL jeans campaign"
METRO

"A face-off between the west coast of America indebted soaring melodies of the Thrills and the day-glo pop of the hirsute Magic Numbers, with a dash of stadium rock U2 and even industrial Editors-esque riffs"
THE FLY

“The first time I listened to this band I was literally blown away! These guys are hot…they are by far the best band I have heard in a very long time!"
INDIE 104 RADIO- LA

“Songs that make you smile... Love it!”
LIZA KUMJIAN-SMITH “AMERICAN IN LONDON” RODNEY ON THE ROQ SHOW KROQ 106.7 FM (LA)

"Indie at its best.................10/10"
UNSIGNED MAGAZINE

"These guys will go very far......"
DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE

"There’s no reason why elmor can’t be your new favorite indie band. The UK quintet delivers nuanced indie pop that waxes and wanes through various mood swings. Listen to “One Step” and you’ll find yourself in familiar Brit rock territory—ethereal vocals, urgent guitars and mercurial rhythms. But lest you think that elmor is another band of brooding Anglos, they deliver a booster shot of sunny melodicism (with handclaps!) in “Remember Thinking.” It’s a tune you’ll want to blast next time you’re behind the steering wheel — whether it’s on the left or right side of your car."
OUR STAGE.COM

“Guildford in Surrey is a lovely place; it’s intimate, classy and rather pretty. Much the same can be said for the pop-rock styling’s of the town’s own Elmor, a band that promise good things with new single ‘Remember Thinking’. The track weighs in at a modest two minutes fifty six, but the guys have positively crammed this short runtime with gorgeous hooks. The sound is big and tuneful, the strong vocals shimmering over a heady concoction of pretty high-end guitar work and throbbing bass and punctuated by well-placed handclaps. The tight production polishes it all up to a radio-ready shine. “One Step” makes it worthwhile keeping this one spinning, more of the same with a giant, angsty chorus equipped with a goose bump-inducing harmony”
GLASSWERK

"The best indie-rock band to have hit the UK for a long time. Look out they're going to be the next big thing!"
UK MUSIC REVIEW.COM

"Elmor possess the raw energy and passion for music that shines as bright as the spotlight they so rightly deserve to be thrust in to"
EAGLE RADIO

"Whilst rooted in Indie-Pop Elmor’s sound posses a rawer, more-emotionally charged edge than many of their peers, a quality that has singled them out as a band well worth watching"
GUILDFORD BOILEROOM

"A sense of reckless abandon was complemented with incredibly tight musicianship giving their sound a very energetic directness that demanded attention. They had no trouble winning over the crowd and ended the show amidst a wall of distorted feedback, completely destroying the music that had come before it in a short display of cacophonic brilliance"
