London born multifaceted vocalist and songwriter Miss P aka Paula Baxter started her musical journey at the age of 6 singing in church with her mother before finding her own talent for music. After studying dance and vocal performance Paula performed as a lead and backing vocalist for various artists and bands in the London scene including; Norman Cooke ( Fat Boy Slim ) Dave Barb ( Beats International) Lance Burman ( The Alfabet Tree) before releasing her first co written indie single. Paula’s vocal style has been described as sassy, soulful, warm and explosive. Her ability to blend gospel with a splash of house, jazz, reggae and raw funk leaves audiences captivated and wanting more. Although born and raised in London, Paula has also been known to sing in Ghanaian, Spanish and French which could be attributed to growing up listening to a variety of artists.Since relocating to Sydney Paula has worked and recorded with some of Sydney's finest including; Paul Mac, Love Tattoo, Betty Vale, Jessica Malboy, The Declan Kelly band,The Darryl Beaton band, Afro Moses,The Hands, Juanita Tippins & Suite Az, Rebecca Jenson, Repharse, Fat Back 4 Way, Grover and her own band Miss P. Her passion for ‘mixing it up’ has also lead her to perform with Dj sound system acts such as; The Martini Club, The Cabin Crew, DJ Huwston, The Boogaloo Crew, La Fiesta Sound System and The Double Yum Funk Club. Paula’s credits do not stop there, whilst performing at the Byron Bay Blues and Roots festival, she was invited to sing with international artist Michael Franti infront a crowd of thousands. So what does the future hold for this talented sista; An EP due for release mid 2009 with a national tour to follow are first on the cards followed by a trip to the US to promote her EP. Paula has well and truly earned her title as one of Sydney’s most dynamic and versatile performers with a unique ability to get the party started.
