I used to manage a Christian web site called: Under The Palm tree With Deborah. It was an oasis of Christian fellowship, dedicated to prayer and encouragement. There was always room under the palm tree. But MSN stopped providing the service so I am attempting to transfer some of the content here. More will be added later so check back often for updates. I had hoped the 60+ members would migrate here to MySpace after my announcement but, sadly, they have not. God has a way of taking what the devil means for evil and making it turn out good so I am hoping more people will join us here. All will be welcome under the palm tree as with the other site.
An OasisOf Christian FellowshipDedicated to prayer and encouragement
..Oasis: 1. A fertile spot in the desert where there is water and usually trees and other vegetation; a tiny oasis where there were camels, and a well ... and a patch of emerald green barley; (Amelia B. Edwards) 2. Figurative. a. any fertile spot in a barren land; any pleasant place in a desolate region. b. a plot or spot refreshingly different from others around it....
~Thorndike-Barnhart Dictionary: World Book Edition~
..When God gives one of His children a job to do He expects to be obeyed. When God speaks, His word is the word of power. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11) It is said: God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called. He gives us the tools required to get the job done. So, why do we hesitate?
We are human. When God began dealing with my spirit , it was a small nudge at first. I shrugged it off. But the prompting persisted. Grew stronger. Months passed. In desperation I shouted, "But I don’t know how!" Two words came through clear as a bell. "TRUST ME" Any journey begins with one step. In faith, I took that step. The result was the web site; Under The Palm Tree With Deborah.
God knew what He wanted and directed every step. It was not until I actually looked up the word "oasis" in the dictionary, that I realized just how perfectly the definition fit. Jesus said, "Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavily laden and I will give you rest..." With the burdens of this world and life in general, we could ALL use a place to rest. A place of peace. Where we will feel safe and find encouragement. An eye in a hurricane. An oasis in the desert.
UTPTWD began on 5/13/2002 and continued in service until 2/20/09. It is my hope that the work begun will continue here until God prompts a move to another location.
So come join us. It doesn't matter if you are a Baptist, a Catholic, a Buddist, or still searching. We are ALL Gods children. We all share the same Spirit. We are ONE in His Love!
When you visit under the palm tree you are simply a "Child of God." What we have in common is LOVE and FAITH.
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)
What you will not find here is a forum for debate over the finer details of religion.
Jesus said: "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat and swallow a camel." (Matthew 23:23 & 24)
Under the Palm Tree we take care of the Camels and let the gnats follow.

This song has special meaning for me. It is not just the way I feel about the wonderful man God blessed me with but also the commitment I have made to my Lord.
