..My book has been out now for two years, and I can't believe what's happened in that time. I've been on T.V., the radio, in magazines and newspapers, had my own column, spoken at conferences, signed thousands of books, and met gazillions of amazing people along the way. She told me to write the screenplay of my story, and I thought it would be a cold day in hell before I ever did that. But, I took off to my friend's lake house and wrote the whole thing in four days. A year and a half, and several drafts later, we're closer than ever to shopping it to the Hollywood big-wigs. Producers and directors are actually coming to us! It's so exciting I can't even stand it. I always say if I died tomorrow, today would be enough. So I want everyone to read my book before it becomes a blockbuster hit. Seriously. I had this great story to tell, and I've told it. I've been keeping journals since I was nine years old, and now I have accomplished my dream of becoming a published author. Whew! My book is a dynamic look at the "funny" in dysfunction. It's about a free-spirited girl trying to plan her wedding with her alcoholic mother. The title is, "You Made This Drink, You Drink It." Writers write what they know, and God knows I've had one helluva ride to write about.
