Artist/DJ/Producer SEAN MALIK began his Hip-Hop journey in '84 after catching a Treacherous 3 record while attending a concert. "I woke up the next morning excited because all night long I had thought about scratchin’. I knew I could do it, my only problem is that I had no wheels (turntables), but Pops did." He goes on to state “I thought he had already left for work but he hadn’t. I was about 30 seconds into my routine when I noticed him in my peripheral, I was cold bustedâ€! SEAN MALIK would soon go out and get his first job,as opposed to testing his father’s words, and purchase his first turntable.SEAN MALIK recorded his first record in ’86 at the age of 16 while in a group DI-RA which also featured Jace of the SL Project. "We received no pay but they (the label) picked up the tab for the studio, in exchange we got to keep the master recording and they gave us about 40 albums to sell in which we could keep the profits. I still have the master and a copy of the albumâ€. Over the next few years SEAN MALIK would master the art of deejaying in addition to rhyming and producing, establishing himself as a raw talent in the local underground scene. In 1993 he formed the group Shabazz Coalition. They would go on to blaze the underground scene with their relentless no holds barred rhymes and displays of microphone fitness until disassembling in ‘96. From there he went on to record and produce his full length solo LP Put It On The Line which he released in ’98 on his newly formed record label Bootleg Syndicate Recordings.Returning from a six year hiatus, SEAN MALIK is back once again scratchin', rhymin' and droppin' those pattened "head bangin beats". Be on the look out for mixtapes and cameos in addition to the long awaited follow up to Put It On The Line. You can catch him spinnin' weekly at various venues in Seattle.
