So many good movies to let ya'll know about so little space... and time for that matter... Here are a few that are must see favorites: The Deer Hunter, Big Lebowski, Exotica, The Boondock Saints, Where The Day Takes You, Apocolypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Rerservoir Dogs, Goodfellas, The Godfather I and II (III was just shite), Monument Ave, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Last Waltz, The Best Years of Our Lives, Road House, Wall Street, Stripes, Rollerball (original not that shit they made a couple of years ago), Slap Shot, Major League, North Dallas Forty, Bad Boys (Sean Penn movie from 82 not the jerry bruckenheimer blow shit up just for the fuck of it film starring the fresh prince and that crazy gun toting motherfucker who used to host def comedy jam) Breakfast Club, Animal House, Fast Times, PCU, Defending Your Life, One Crazy Summer, Hiding Out, Old School, Safe Men, Swimming With Sharks, Outside Providence.... and many many more to come. Oh... and Oliver Stone is just the most overrated director of this generation. Just felt like it needed to be said!
HBO is not TV but the shows on it are the only reason I pay to have it on my tv. I'm stoked that they picked up Season 4 of the best damn show on tv The Wire. Can't wait to see where the show goes to in the new season. I gotta admit that I'm enjoying the 3rd season of Entourage even with that idiot Kevin Connelly. The kid can't act can we get a replacement please!!! Nonetheless Jeremy Piven is the anchor of that ship. 24 starts up in January for year 6... It will be interesting to see what happens with Jack Bauer. Daily Show is the funniest late night snack on the menu... although Kimmell has his moments but way more misses then hits. I actually really miss Tough Crowd... when that show came on it was the funniest damn thing I ever saw then as time went on each comedian's jokes became more predicatable now that it has been off for awile I'm ready for some more Nick Dipaulo, Greg Geraldo and Patrice O'Neal. Oh... I finally am on the bandwagon... Family Guy is the shit... I swear I might die from laughing from that show. Consider me a convert considering how much I usually hate "cartoon" shows.Speaking of tv shows on DVD... someone at Fox want to get a move on 90210? Don't laugh... that show still kicks the oc's puny fake ass. Soapnet runs an episode a day during the week at 5pm... highly educational for the young and unknowing. Why settle for chicken shit like the oc when you can have chicken salad 90210 style. And yes... I still love VH1. As much as I hate them for ruining the world and civilization as we know it... you can't beat the Surreal Life for pure shit and giggles and all of there other fine programming such as I love the enter year, bands reunited, etc.etc.etc...
The only books I'm reading right now are Law Case Books and if you're into that then your a real sick fuck! When not in school I love a good mystery with a slick talking pi a hard ass sidekick, one sick twisted fuck round that out with a hot but smart female and that my friends is 300 pages of fun! So to answer the question I love Robert Parker and Harlan Coben books!
When I was young like around 10 or 11 Len Bias was my hero. He went to Maryland to play college b-ball and was simply amazing. He was as gifted a bball player as anyone who ever played. His interviews made you like the guy. He was my hero. And to top it off... the Boston Celtics picked him in the NBA draft in the 1st round 2nd pick. That was my NBA team with Larry Legend, FrankensteinmcHail, and the Chief. Len was going to win them another 10 World Championships. The night he got drafted he went to a party... snorted some blow and died. My hero was dead b/c of an overdose... at 10 that sucks, at 27 I've forgiven him. But hero's aren't made on the court or on the movie screen. Now I look at my father and see how far he came from a small town in PA to Baltimore and now is retired in Palm Beach Gardens. The man came from nothing but parents who loved him to marrying his college sweetheart, to becoming a very successful attorney and raising two out of control kids, to retiring with my mother in hot ass FLA and loving every minute of life. Now that's a hero (wait I think I hear a violin playing in the background).
