Chris has been making tracks since the days of Run-DMC, started off using turntables and worked the way up to using many piece of hardware for beats...now works with primarily computer programs to make beats.
Son of Mac's first started off MC'ing and DJ'ing until buying his first two drum machines.
While in college at Kent State University, he partnered up with DJ Kid Finesse aka Ken Taylor and helped write and produce a record called Ms Elenor under the group name Spice on Heat Records. Heat Records was a small record label based in Akron, Ohio, and was primarily known for R&B. The Record only recieved local airplay.
While back home in NJ, Chris met a local piano store owner, Chris Evans, who helped the group record several non released track. This was a major influence as Chris began to focus more on making beats as Chris Evans opened up his private studio for the young producer to work in. Several years later Son of Mac bought his first professional sampler and started making beats for local artist in NJ.
Around 1994, Chris co-founded a production group called 48 kilohertz with Tony Torsiello in Morristown, NJ. The two made plenty of noise in Tony's home studio called the RedLight Lounge. The crew saw its ups and downs while working with local talent before Chris slowed down to focus on his personal life.
After picking back up Chris gave tracks to Latin Bomb Squad which appeared on several of their CDs.
In 2003, several of Son of Mac's beats were used in a hip-hop documentary called "5 Side Of A Coin".
