El Plan de Aguavodka Experimental Music Podcasts

About Me

El PLAN DE AGUAVODKA is the alias of New Mexico-born, Ohio-raised multimedia artist, John Ibarra. It is also his official plan to have no plan/to leave some things to chance/to live in a world in which many worlds..., etc. His foray into experimental music is equal parts quasi-religious speculation and pseudo-scientific jibber-jabber (Heavily influenced by the non-musical ideas of the late Dr. Jacques Benveniste and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin). Musically he combines the aesthetics of ethnographic field recordings with destructive practices often involving circuit-bent toys, prepared cd’s and tapes, and misused encoding software.

Sounds Like: The agua-eagle (with infinity genizaro goo-gool-ee eyes) perched on a circuit-bent cactus chanting a song of war (probably parti de mal). A computer crashing in the Himalayas only to be rescued by optimistic French Jesuits wearing poofy parkas. A guitar tied to a telephone pole, pierced with arrows, and tickled with an electric toothbrush. A tapedeck plugged into a dimmer in a pet store. Miklos Rosa on a drunken safari with an inept jazz band. El Monster del Charco singing in the shower. Drum set played by wind up chickens. French-kissing electronics. Babies at a car show. Parrots at the circuit city. Pigs at a poetry reading.
