Small War - Guy Schwartz
Add to My Profile | More Videos i do video. Narrative stories; artists making art; cooking; travel shows; and lots of video on music and the people who make it. For the last 7 years, i've been involved with a marketing experiment lovingly called south by due east where we feature local artists, songwriters, bands, performance artists, videographers and spoken word at incredible places like earthwire.net; super happy funland; and dan electro's guitar bar. its traditionally held over 4 days, and diversity is the name of the game. Cowpunk Electric bands play in the slot next to real live Zydeco Royalty. Its' a great sampler of the music from all over the city. Then to keep it interesting, we invite road bands traveling to or from Austin on their way to some festival. And then we film everybody. We were kind of the first DIY video festival. We put up the lights, get the set, make the deals with the acts and let anyone who wants to participate in the filming film the bands, along with our multi camera setups and multi track audio recording rigs. Sweet deal for the bands(because its' free footage and audio for them to use as they want, too) and the easiest shoot we do all year because everyone comes to us. if you're ever in the houston area in the spring time - check out my calendar and blog for the latest details.i do a lot of digital manipulation and projected art, available for all types of performance and commercial art projects.
